A Note of Gratitude

Below you can find a letter of gratitude sent on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 to Dthora Madong, the Penticton Refugee Sponsorship Group, from LG, an individual/family the parish is helping to sponsor.

If all goes well, the family should be approved to travel to Canada by this coming Fall.

More opportunities to be involved in the sponsorship process will be made available to the wider community in the coming months. Please stay tuned!

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. As I sit down to pen my thoughts, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and emotions, for words alone cannot express the depth of my appreciation for your unwavering support and the opportunity you have provided for me and my family.

It feels like just yesterday when we embarked on this arduous journey, fleeing from the horrors of war and violence that plagued our homeland. We were displaced, torn apart from our loved ones, and left with nothing but hope for a better future. Little did we know that our paths would cross with such compassionate souls like yours, who would become our guiding light in this darkest of times.

Your sponsorship has not only granted us the chance to rebuild our lives but has also restored our faith in humanity. It is through your selfless act of kindness that we have been allowed to start afresh, to dream again, and to believe in a world where compassion triumphs over adversity.

The road we have traveled has been long and treacherous, filled with countless obstacles and challenges. But your unwavering support has been our anchor, providing us with strength and resilience to overcome each hurdle that came our way while waiting here in —————. Your belief in our potential has ignited a fire within us, propelling us forward even when the path seemed insurmountable.

Soon, as we prepare to embark on a new chapter of our lives in Canada, I cannot help but feel overwhelmed with excitement and gratitude. The thought of finally finding a place to call home, where we can live in peace and security, is nothing short of a miracle. And it is all because of your kindness and generosity.

I want you to know that your sponsorship has not only changed our lives but has also given us the chance to give back to society. We have learned the true meaning of compassion and empathy, and we are eager to share our experiences and knowledge with others facing similar challenges. We want to be the beacon of hope for those who have lost their way, just as you have been for us.

As we embark on this new journey, we promise to make the most of this opportunity. We will work hard, pursue our dreams, and contribute to our new community in any way we can. Your faith in us has given us the strength to believe in ourselves, and we will not disappoint you.

Once again, from the depths of our hearts, we thank you for your unwavering support, for believing in us when no one else did, and for giving us a chance to rewrite our story. We will forever be indebted to you, and we hope to make you proud as we embark on this new chapter of our lives sooner.

With the sincerest gratitude and God bless you all.

LG
